I know this has been discussed, but not in this way so please if you aren't going to help don't make things harder for rest of us.
Most discussed thing in our obscurity server is how to see obscure better. Rumors say that it is all about how high you can get your graphics, some says magical configs they got from pro database (search google for pro config database)
My question is not "I need a obscurity config"
I'm asking what are the commands, including visibility of obscurity I will try to do an obscurity config with high fps rate and with best vision.
If you'll be specific about commands I will be glad.
For example:
r_lodscaleskinned -1000 (Level of detail for skinned objects (-1000=better to 0=lowest) (more detail = better visibility))
note: lodscaleskinned is an example i have no idea if this works or not, just an example...
Thanks for everyone who will answer :) I'll be checking this post

Hi SpyKedii
What you are gonna to try is maybe a bit unfair towards the other players without optimized dvar-settings. So I guess you will not get much support here and the OBS-DEV-Team will be so clever to restrict dvars they know which can be used to get unfair advantages.

This game is about fair play amongst other things, hence the melon list, and unless you like melons, id advise you not to screw around too much to get an unfair advantage.
My Advice, get better eyes, or better still a better headset, surround sound helps a hell of a lot, because you can actually hear where it is, i have turned around and shot an obs in the face many a time because they were rushing and i could single out the direction easily.
Im just making it easier for the rest of us :)

Changing the lod settings does nothing, as the obs model is set to not use lod scaling or textures. In theory having higher resolution textures would help, as the more detail there is in a surface the more obvious a distortion would be on top of it. Most of the advantage comes from sound rather than image, having a good headset or 5.1 surround setup will let you pinpoint any obs that isn't sneaking very well and gives you a good edge against noobs.

Well, my intention is not getting an advantage but decreasing the disadvantage... Because I'm using yitch3.cfg and my extra settings with that i don't see, i only hear. But some of my friends shoot obs who is watching on a building, which is impossible for me!
Here i'm trying to cover up the disadvantage,
I have some ideas about how obscurity mode forces some settings, but i sometimes think that some settings are missing to see obs...
(I even saw a guy shooting obs from base to base on air, without hack not luck he was aiming all the way it flew)

Half that s--- shouldn't even be used/on for obscurity, hence you are trying to get an advantage. I suggest using a default config with minimal settings under a new profile name.

I suggest you just keep playing, most of the ability to see the obs comes from experience not settings

in case you don't already get it - have r_distortion set to 1 (obscurity automatically turns this on). this lets you see obs. other then that, high res helps for obvious reasons, and antialiasing wouldn't hurt - but no settings make obs easier to harder to see - you either can see it or you can't.

I use my Own Graphic Settings,But TBH The settings don't help either way,When I had just a regular 256MB graphics card I had to use 800 x 600 Resolution and Low settings Just to get good fraps,And now (Until my Motherboard went up) I have an ATI RADEON HD 4650 with 1GB of Graphic Memory,And I still see the obs the same as I did with a 256-MB Graphics card,So really. It's your Eye's and Hearing,I've got mine from Only Sniping for 3+ years on Obs and I'm still lovin' it xD

Is there any difference between using cg_fov 65 and cg_fov 80 ? I have now it on 65 in hope to see them earlier.

Good sound, knowledge of map layouts and observing the behaviour of teamates should get you on the right track to spotting an obscurity.

Yeah it's best to leave the FOV at the default settings. The default setting will stop it zooming incorrectly between aiming down sights and not aiming down sights. There should be no change in zoom if it is correct.

Uhm on fov 65 everything becomes smaller by aiming down the sights and at fov of 80 everything becomes larger by aiming down the sights. 65 is the cod4 default setting. 80 is the tampered fov setting. This behaviour seems to be very strange to me but okay.

'cg_fov 70' is what it should be at for obscurity. There will be no zooming in or out when it is done right.

Okay I didn't know that. Would be maybe better when the mod autoset this value at connecting because almost no one will play it in cg_fov 70 except very few who know about this. Default is still 65.
