Anyone else think that the different sound quality modes are a bit unbalanced? I don't know if the stances changed the equation but I swear that the differences weren't this pronounced in the older versions.
Medium Quality :
Pro's:
You can hear obs flying in air (even with jump stance)
Tiniest movement makes loads of static noise.
(Speculative) Messing around (changing them) with stances/firing modes/guns seems to make sound.
Obs seems generally easier to locate when its at medium sound.
Con's:
Can't hear taunts, it becomes static.
Annoying low quality sound.
High Quality:
Pro's:
You can hear taunts.
Delicious high quality sound
Con's:
The pro's of medium sound listed above.
Wouldn't it be possible to somehow "balance" out the different sound qualities by either lowering the amount of static noise in medium or upping it in high?

Sound quality doesn't change when the sounds play, so "hearing obs flying even with jump stance" just doesn't happen, and neither does "tiniest movement makes loads of static noise". Firing your obs gun makes him say a word in any sound quality, but is only audible to the obs themself.
Sounds to me more like:
Anything but high:
Pro's: Placebo effect Cons: Your ears will bleed from the awful sounds

When using Leaper, whilst leaping up you make sound, whilst falling you do not. This is intentional to balance the stance so that it is not overpowered. Sound quality does not factor into it.

Like Falc said - bleeding ears may be a con of medium/low sound. If you can stand medium quality then you might need to get your ears checked.
