First of all LMG's alot of talk about how much people dont like them. This could be great to free up a few extra xmodels!! just take them out no1 will care and could make the game alot more fun.
Secondly proximity beepers, i liked this idea i decided that it might work best as a perk similar to lasers (maybe a little too close) the proximity beeper could be thrown down on the ground and the closer an obs got to it the faster it beeped
Thirdly, variable distorsion, if an obs is lying down or not moving it would be nice if they could be extremtly hard to see. But if an obs is chasing a marine down the distorsion becomes a little higher than it is now making a hunt something that needs to be short and fast otherwise an obs will die.
I will add to this if i think of anyting else.

Yes trying to remove the stock weapon xmodels does nothing... and to change the level of distortion on the Obscurity would require EVEN MORE xmodels... I like the idea of the proximity beeper though.. but means... more models..... FAIL ENGINE

Squads perks, I don't think we should give squads any benefit over flying solo other than letting them know each others positions. Hustle and medic work as good squad type perks, but also when solo.

Taggers.... Are annoying and easily distract you!
The Solution.... Everytime a tagger decides it might be funny to shoot you. Their screen is sprayed with blood, and oh noes i cant see..... i shouldnt do that because its bad for me!.

thats all good and well for dickheads, but if you actually playing seriously and tag a friend while trying to kill an obs, i'm pretty sure you wouldn't wanted to be blinded with blood because you shoot his foot.

I thought about that last night and really if another player is standing between u and an obs should you really risk the tk just for a kill?
I dont think ever tagging a team mate is justified (not even when as obs is about) and i think players need to learn this.

That is how people force teamkills anyway so what would this change if ur going to get a team kill?
and like i said before people will have to be aware of retarted teammates and learn to watch their fire.

and yes i know i was talking tagging, i was just saying that people can force teamkills by running infront of you and you can usually avoid it so try avoiding tagging, plus dont camp with the noobs get in a squad with people u trust and go somewhere else

What was mario game type?
a slight change to the elimination game type. What if you were to become the obs if you kill it? Would it be possible? Maybe (if possible) once you kill an obs if there are no more around (15-20m) you switch sides?
possibly not do-able but would make for a more fluid game. More like sab version of obs than a s&d one.
another idea. Back to the barley used hallucinate gun type. Would it be possible to make a gun mode that makes an obs appear where the shot hits. Desired effect would be make the marines fire at a hollagram and you can sneak in and poke em!

I like the spawning obs but idn if it can be done, if so i like this place 1 in the middle of a room and wtaching the tks build up ^^
Also mario... Was awesome. The obs would have to jump and try landing on a players head and if they did the marine would die. There were no weps but obs could use their gun..... which made it really annoying obs would just port marines up high which kinda defeated the purpose. Maybe people could brainstorm ideas for Mario to because its really fun when u figure out a method of jumping on a players head!

Mario gametype (obs_mar) is a gamemode with elimination selection, but the aim is to stab the Obscurity. As a marine you only get a knife and as an Obscurity you can only kill marines by jumping on their head. Marines cannot camp under roofs etc, as they slowly lose life when they stay under anything within a couple of meters of their heads.
To top it off there are Mario sound effects for jumping and killing/dying. It's a good & funny mode when people start getting too serious, and when you work out the trick it's easy playing as Obscurity, but until you learn the trick then it is difficult.

I have a question about some of the perks and how they affect Obscurity when playing as him. If you were to play as Obs with dead silence, does it affect the radio chatter the enemy hears as you get closer at all? I tried it with some friends and they said they didn't hear much of a difference.
Also, what if Battle Hardened not only reduced blood in eyes after a kill, but gave a temporary speed boost. Kind of a blood lust effect for say 5-10 seconds after getting a kill.
I like the Proximity beeper idea, but then again it will just be hilarious because you know your squad leader is going to die when he goes off like a deffective fire alarm and his ragdoll is suddenly flying through the air XD
And at the "Make obs easier to see while moving"... That's what the radio static is for. The game is not meant to be played without the sound turned waaaaay up with you leaning in so you can hear it the moment he gets close and then jump back from your computer screen screaming when he lands infront of you and knifes you in the face. This game is all about the psychological build up and sudden release that comes with a good Obs. Actually once you play enough it becomes quite easy to see the Obs anyway. And once you learn what people do, you can foresee when or where they are going to be and kill them there.
I've already brought up the topic of Campers with Falcar and it was broached that there be a time limit on a marine in a certain area, and after that time was reached, the obs could then start to see them glow with red smoke to signify their life force emanating from that point because they sat still too long. Whereas Obscurity can't see marines that are moving because the life force that eminates from them is being dispersed too quickly to see as they move.
And what if the medic perk did something to Obscurity? Like when you stabbed an Obs with it they will glow blue like medicine pulsing through their veins or something? Might at a slight slowing or stun effect. Or temporarily (3-7 seconds) remove the ability to F-jump? Idk, just an idea.
Also for the Armoury game type. Maybe we could switch teams every seond Armoury taken over? In some games Obs only changes twice maybe three times. And if it's a good obs, with respawning marines.. Well.. the kill count gets rather large. Idk, just something the guys on my server thought would work better.

I think, and this is extremely unsure but i think that a players perks are removed and replaced when u r chosen soo unless falc wants to take this out im pretty sure perks while obs could take some time.
I really like the blue glow but again if i stab an obs i sure a hell want that kill, if i had a better chance of stabbing obs then i might think about it a little more but its hard enough to shoot em on my pc let alone get a knife off then try stabbing em.

Idk if it's possible, but would you be able to make it so that EVERYONE got to see the last kill of the match on replay? I just thought it would be fun for some of those Humiliation kills and what not! Lemme know!

Suggest away Blazer ^.^ What this one is for!
I thought of another Obscurity mode ^.^ It would be like Obscurity Challenge mode or something, for the real hard core good obscurities. At the beginning of the match all marines pick who they want to be the Obs or who wanted a challenge the most. So that person becomes Obs, and then they have to kill the marines in all different kinds of ways to earn points. The more ways you do it, the more points. Conc nade kill, drop kill, knife, etc. Extra points for tough kills like someone swaps a guy after he shoots a rocket and the guy hits himself with a rocket >.< happens with the better players on my server. Anyway, I think it would be fun, and really be a skill tester to see where people are skill wise while being obs. cause 1v22 is just FUN. And if you kill someone the same way repetitively one after another you lose points >.< Anyway, thought it would be a fun game mode. call it Arnold's game or something >.<
I know you're working on MTX and I can't wait to try that too!! But just some more things I thought of. Keep the magic comin guys! You're amazing Falcar and Snakelet!

I dont think there are 23 players in the world the would all be on 1 server at the same time, and all be good ^^
Plus only 1 marine gets a kill per round and 23 rounds must be played for every1 to get a go @ obs.
Maybe expand on the idea though, it is very good.

On the contrary scubasteve...we have found out the more the merrier. Its pretty fun as it is with say 15 peeps on or less, but when our server gets 20 all the way up to max capacity of 30 its real intense! Plus we're starting to work in custom maps as well to keep it fresh.

Well its good to see u have great players but the fact remains that if no1 opts out and u acheive your 30 players, then 30 rounds must pass for everybody to get a turn.
If this does not happen people could go 3 or more rounds w/o gettin a turn.
Edit: I mean rounds as in maps, so 3 maps could go by.

I see your point however I don't think I made myself clear enough. What I meant was like a once a week special event that you would use on the obs servers. It would just be on the weekend or something and the top players from that week would get to pit themselves against all the other good players. So it would be more of a elected obs than a random one.
OR
Maybe you could build it into the game so that once every so often, like every 25ish rounds the obs game has a random event that would be like what I said. So normal gameplay up until that round and it suddenly goes CHOOSE YOUR MIGHTY CHARACTER! and then someone gets pitted against everyone. Might work better that way. As opposed to it's own gametype
Also in the next update, maybe you could config it so that if there is 1 person on the server it will allow that guy to choose wether he spawns as obs or marine so he could practice w/e he wants, then when another person gets on it resets the match and puts them against eachother. Cause on some servers I've had 4 people waiting for 1 more person so the game would start >< Don't know if that's possible but yeah.

Good idea about the first few guys in Elimination being able to spawn and stuff about. Rather then sit their staring at the screen until enough people join. If it can be done, I will push for it, because that waiting annoys me also.
As for challenge type gametypes. We do have plans to eventually implement a challenge mode or something along those lines that would include things such as what you suggested.
On another note, if you set the ratio high enough in your config you can do this already. 1 Obscurity vs all each round, although he would be random picked per round.

1st of all guys AWESOME MOD. ok i had an idea about heat vision, yes it can be too powerful, BUT you can limit it. like in splenter cell. the guy has heat vision, but when someone is too far away all he can see is blue. i thought maybe u guys could do something similar. maybe like u can choose wether u want night vision or heat vision and heat vision is good for spotting obs, but just close up.
and PLEASE can u guys add custom classess!! i hate it when i spawn and i run out of time to pick my weapon and i get stuck with the standard stuff.
also an idea i just thought of but didnt extend on, what if the last marine alive got some sort of bonu. like a cool weapon or something to give him a strategic opportunity whenever he is outnumbered.... just a thought.

the problem with heat vision is things in call of duty (as far as i know) don't have heat values and whatnot, you would have to give every object in the game a heat signature, which i don't think is even possible, and even if if was, it would probably make the game explode with all the stuff it has to remember lol.

I think heat vision however limited would be a bit overpowered. Simply because as it is, anytime the obs is on fire, he dies almost instantly cause he's that much easier to see. Even bleeding is a large help to finding him, so I think thermal imaging might make the marines just a lil too powerful. IMHO.

well maybe a limit could also be that the obs are cold blooded, and only give off heat when moving. like running, jumping, walking, crouch walking, not standing still or crawling. theres a lot u can do with heat vision. and if u still think its TOO powerful then mabye it can be the edge the last marine needs when he is outnumbered by two or more obs.
also wouldnt it be easier to put a create a class than having everyones own specific classess. cuz i have like 4 or so classess i use...

(oh and if the obs is on fire it doesnt matter wether or not u have heat vision.. u can see the fire.) however when hes bleeding..if hes cold blooded u wont be able to track it..unless u want them to have that ability.***THE MARINES BECOME THE PREDATOR*** lol
and if u do decide to give heat vision to everyone maybe u could give the obs and emp gun that disables or blurrs the night vision and heat vision. maybe disable heat and blurr night. the emp gun could have a small AOE and can possibly be used to disable traps??? keeps the marines on their toes instead of just camping in a corner.

There won't be heat vision, probably won't be traps. There is no need for heat vision, the game is not that hard once you play it a bit. As for traps, some are possible, some are not, we have brainstomed ways to implement traps, but it will probably never happen. Traps wouldn't cause damage, because we want Obscurity players to have to stab for their kills.

thats completely fine that they wont do damage. just obs having traps kinda equals up the playing field some more..some (i think dumb (no offense) marines) use clays A LOT and they have lasers and what not, so i figured y not give something to the obs. the teleporter could be expanded into to make it not only a teleporter, wether just obs or both obs and marines can use, but a trap. like obs can plant it and send it over a cliff or something..who knows. just thinking traps for obs could be emplemented very well.

they were just basic ideas. i mentioned expansion needed.
the tele clays would be diff tho. you guys liked them as a teleporter so the obs get 2 clays and they place them where they want. obs could place them on the roof and one in a door way, or on both sides of map, you never know and thats the risk of going in them as marines. obs can have red dots on their HUD or map to show them where they are and where they lead.
just basic ideas
