I have an idea for the admin panel, i would like to see mp_burg added to maplist. It is a quality map and most of the servers regular players have already got it.
I am not requesting it to be put in rotation just so admin can select it as next map.

If Falcar has got the day/night cycle I created working correctly for it now, then yes, this should be possible. If I remember right, we took it out as the cycle was not functioning 100% correct.

It's back now along with 2 new maps: mp_ksfact and mp_sconsegrad. They are both sweet, large maps.
It may be time for us to do that map selection based on amount of players thing Falcar. We shall discuss it tomorrow. Probably need to be an admin toggle option between select maps based on players and default map list.

Awesome idea. I really like that.... I also have another idea guys. Its regarding PBSS. I know us being low level admins can't access the actual SS but maybe an admin panel button that takes the SS then we tell either of you guys and when you get a chance you can check it and if appropriate add the GUID to the melon list. Would save a lot of screwing around trying to work out if someone is hacking or not.

That could cause a spam of PBSS. Only a certain amount can be stored (from what I remember), and it overwrites once it reaches that, which would defeat the purpose if no one could regularly check them.
edit: plus I guess what Falcar said that I didn't know :P

telling the server to take a screenshot is done through rcon to reach the server's punkbuster... it can't be done with a mod, and requires you to be logged into rcon :( otherwise, I would have added it already :p

I knew they overwrote, but it would have been helpful Desc if we needed to run the PBSS and then tell either Falc or Snake to check the SS's

Maybe. We already have the admin structure for RconTroll setup. Just need to get the folder restrictions in place and create buttons for specific commands such as /pb_sv_getss and should be good to go with giving you both pbss folder access and ability to take server wide lock-screen screenshots without having our rcon password. Details of RconTroll: http://www.obscurecreations.com/ (site is slightly fugly)
You will be stuck with remote (from RconTroll) PBSS functionality only though.

We locked it because it was getting a heap of spam. Testing wise, its all good. Once we have the folder restrictions in place, I'll create admin access for a select few admins. This will enable them to take/view/delete pbss files only.

We are too fussy. The game would probably never be released as we would get stuck in the endless loop of 'let's just add this one extra cool feature/polish'.

Hey snake and falcar.
I have an idea for the mod, I don't know if it is possible but you could add wind where it would be either help you move if it blows the way you are moving and making it harder if you move opposite of the flow. Also you could add like "heavy wind" like you have with rain. :)
I think it would be making it even more realistic.

It might be possible if the engine allows you to increase/reduce the resistance/moving speed on a certain axis with a +/- value of your current co-ords (depending on the direction in which you're moving).. that's the way I think it'd be done if the engine is capable.
Dunno if that makes sense but I know that I understand it and that's all that matters.

I don't particularly think it's needed now that we have removed blizzards and sandstorms. How many instances do you encounter wind that makes it difficult to walk/run in? We have considered wind, but only on a sound/particle fx level.

yeah it would be possible....
modify speed based on cos( winddir - playerdir ).
calculations required to do it properly (checking for walls in the wind direction to prevent the wind) makes it a bit of overkill though. I'd rather not have the server doing trig *and* vector functions twice a second (bare minimum imo update rate for non-laggyness of move speed) for every player that's alive -_-.
completely unnecessary for the mod too lol.
