Hi, I would like to see a change in the sound that the obs make when they're near you, I 'd like to hear a scarier sound like either the Predator sound or a Grudge sound. I was also wanting to ask, if its possible for me to change the sound like that by using a cvar in the config file to change the sound to a custom sound that I'd provide in like a custom sound folder or something so I can use on my server for anyone who joins?

The sound effect is scripted in a way that it is random and does not loop the same constantly. It is also closely tied into the movement speed of the obscurity. Therefore the slower you move the less sound you will emit.
The problem is, that because it is a sound effect built up by around 140+ sound files (Thanks Falcar. Didn't know it was segmented that much) that are extremely short (so that they change according to the speed and don't keep playing for 10 more seconds after the obscurity has reduced speed), it is not as simple as replacing a single solitary sound.
To add in the predator crackling sound thing it does, it would be better off added as a newly scripted taunt or proximity based sound effect that plays when he is right near you.
If you wish to ignore the above explaination or it doesn't make sense, in short, no it is not possible because:
- It is tightly intertwined to scripting and is not a single sound file.
- An obscurity is not a predator, therefore we will not be adding predator ripped content.
As for making the sound scarier, this could possibly be done, but it would not be a Predator clone or have any relation to it. Falcar and I will discuss this, and provide it in the next obscurity update if we deem it necessary to do.

^What snakelet said, but it's actually made up of 144 different sound files. To make them adjustable by server admins, they would have to be .mp3 files (thanks to cod's restrictions), and this format isn't suited to sound effects.

I didn't realize how complicated it is to create mods, good work, love the mod. I was just suggesting some variety in the sound so admins could have the ability to set the atmosphere for players, then players could get a different ambience everytime they join, it could be a futuristic android kinda feeling like Darth Vader breathing, a scary feeling, even a clown laugh can cause some people to be terrified like a Attack of the Killer clowns mod. There could be many different variations of this mod. When I first played this mod, it covered all my senses, sight, sound and it stayed in the my mind all day and had me coming back wanting more. I really appreciate it, thanks.
