So i recently watched a video by snakelet on youtube of him playing obs. It was 5 minutes long and I noticed some major differences between what he saw, and what everyone on our server sees. In his version there is a sorta black wavyness around the obscurity as he moves around liek an increased aura of distortion. Also when the obs got hit by a fire nade it was fully engulfed in a circle. When we play here we just see 4 limbs on fire with tiny bits of fire on all 4.
So I was wondering if there was anything that we might have changed on accident while ading our own menu background and such. I mean it seems at some point the obs became harder to see. So all I'm really asking is if you meant there to be an aura instead of just the character skinned in distortion. And also how exactly you meant the fire nade to interact with obscurities.
Also I'd like to bring up the knifing distance again. I know you nor anyone on heat server seems to find a problem with it, but myself and quite a few others on our server have had a problem with the knifing distance. In quite a lot of replays, regrettably none of which I remember to film in time because of my astonishment at the distance of the knife, the knifer kills the knifee at a tremendous range. However the stipulation to these troublesome knives is the fact that they only occur when the obscurity is sprinting. Leading me to believe that while sprinting the game makes a sort of *ghost* obscurity if you will that is leading the actual position of the obscurity because that is where he's going to be. Well it seems to me that this Ghost obscurity is lengthening the knife distance by about a foot and a half, because I've been on the other side of a car, and a persons length away before, and been knifed from that amazing distance.
Anyway jsut wanted to let you know a couple things on my mind. Keep up the great work! And falcar on get with that sound bit as soon as possible, just took longer to get the studio together than I thought it would xD You know how that goes xD

well with the difference in visuals, remember how long ago snakelet made the video.
with the knife distance you have to consider lag and whatnot.

That video is from Obscurity v1 Obscurity was a black cloud puff in Obscurity v1 that was more visible the faster he moved.
Knifing. It is possible that the differences in ping cause the engine to predict movements and positions based on current movements and positions. Just my theory though. The knife distance has also slightly been increased from default COD4 to accommodate lack of auto-lock on stabs.

the knife range is increased by like 1 inch, some time lag can cause failure though.
