Hey guys. I was just in a server playing obs {BN}Obs server :208.167.248.182:28960 and I got banned for "hacking". The admin came on and did a PB screenshot of me and said it was clean. Then he did another one and said it was dirty. What does that mean? SS dirty? They said it came up a solid color or something? How am I supposed to play on other servers when no one comes on mine if I get banned for being good....  What could have caused that?

First of all, I don't know this server, so it really has nothing to do with us. I'm not sure what a dirty/blank pb ss means either. Perhaps Falcar will have more insight.

I can't really help you other than suggest you either discuss it with the admin more and try to get it reversed or try another Obscurity server.

Yeah we don't know anyone who admins that server, but they seem a bit trigger happy to ban on one screenshot that could have been glitched by any number of things ( although it would be a cunning hack if it cleared your PB screenshots, any moron would make it a fake screenshot rather than one solid colour ). You'll have to take it up with them =/

Spider, i was one of the players at the BN server where you were banned. we all watched you, you were reported to the admin 4 times in less than an 20 minutes, by respected Clans. i personaly know the BN admin, he showed my a recording of your play. you were doing jump shots around corners with a Deagal, killing the obscurity from across the map. 3 admins went over the submited recordings. You Were Banned. I know you are a respected member here, and i have nothin wrong with you, but we (about 13 players) even players on your team, were getting upset. "Hack somewhere else, we dont care, Hack here and you are Gone!" Admins words exactly from my xfire.

Much Respect, i just wanted you, as well as other players to know the reason you were removed.

P.S - when a hack ment to clean a S.S breaks (sometimes at new map load or to many "options" enabled will make the Clean hook to break) the S.S will come a solid color.  We Read up on it to help answer the Question.

     I understand your concern for hackers, and believe it or not I am the same way. I don't tolerate it nor do I encourage it. I think you should be able to play a game with skill alone, or not at all. However, being banned after only TWO screen shots, one of which happened to go all black (which can happen for any number of reasons, not just a hack. Including some problems with windows as some of my clan mates tell me) is not really sufficient evidence for being banned. And the reason I'm able to pull off those "Impossible" shots is because I know the tactics of the game very well. People are predictable when they are Obscurities. And if you know what to look and listen for it's quite easy to see or even predict where an obscurity is going to be.

     The fact that I was able to come on your server and kill your members with ease does not mean I'm hacking. When I first joined the Obs server I was under the same impression that I too was "completely invisible" and when people started hitting me accross the map I yelled HAXORS too. But then I learned what to look for and pretty soon I could do it myself. Now I'm not trying to put you or the clans that frequent your server down, but if you played with some of the other people on my server like myself, you wouldn't stand a chance. I just think your skill level has yet to become what it needs to be in order to see the Obs team.

     I appologize that my being good was taken so harshly, and I won't frequent your server anymore so you need not worry about it. But trying to call me out as a hacker is unacceptable and if anything I should be the one receiving the appology.  Contrary to what you have been led to believe you have no hard evidence of my hacking other than a "Fully black SS" which again could have happened for any number of reasons. You forget that when they ran the othe PunkBuster check on me it came up nill, and the fact that I was on your server, which streams to PB if I'm not mistaken, didn't pick anything up. Now I may know how to BUILD and computer, but I wouldn't know the first step of how to even BEGIN writing a program that would get me headshots (And am not interested in buying one as I am in college and couldn't afford it even if I wanted to).

     Please also take into account, if I were hacking, I would never die... Because I would be able to see everyone coming, and therefore be able shoot you before you even got close to me. Yet I died numerous times on your server. So next time you see a kill that looks suspicious, I will gladly explain how I achieved it.

     I'm making a Youtube tutorial for the Obscurity mod and maybe when it's finished you can watch it and hopefully it will explain how I know what I know whilst playing the game. Untill then I wish you and your clan-mates the best of luck.

If you would be so kind as to send me a copy of the video (Email:gcahill4@gmail.com or Xfire:Rumshifter) I would very much like to submit it to PB with an explanation of how I achieved each kill. I would like proffesional opinions in the matter, not just the opinions of 3 missled people. Because before viewing they were already under the impression that I was hacking, which will make people see what they want to see, or reafirm what they're told even more. Thank you for your cooperation. My only interest here is to clear my name from this rediculous accusation.

It takes a lot of experience to become good at Obscurity, and I can understand how players such as SpiderGat ( and many over here in Aus/NZ as we have had the mod for much longer ) could appear suspicious. But really, the amount of indicators to where an obscurity is hiding is huge, if you're perceptive enough to notice them. I wasn't on the server when he was supposedly hacking, but this morning when I was watching him play ( and note he was doing well, very hackusation-worthy at 9 kills to 1 death ) there was nothing dodgy whatsoever. He knew where they were, but only from experience, I was aware of them whenever he spotted them too ( probably because I've played the mod more than anyone ) So please reconsider his ban, even if he never plays on your server again, and maybe come play with me, Snakelet, |obz| clan, Describe and Phoenix if you want to see some other legitimate and experienced players >:D.

I've played with him before on the EAS server, and he seem stright to me! i did not see anything odd about his play

SpiderGat, You Ban Has Been Lifted. You seem like a genuine person, so you will get another chance. Please, Speak to no-one that you are unbanned, as they dont know i am doing this, and could cost me my membership. Good Luck and have fun.

As a fellow |EAS| Member and Admin, I thank you for lifting our players ban. Like he said, the Black SS problem has been around for pretty much the existance of Windows Vista and the Nvidia 8800 series of Graphics cards. These screenshots come up frequently, and if you have a combination of either of the two, most likely you will almost never report back a clean screenshot.

Our box is back up. They had to warantee the box back to dell to get a new one since the power supply was broken in some way in the box.

     Thank you for the second chance, however, if at all possible I would still like to get my hands on the video. I have no videos of myself playing yet and I think they would be cool to see, as well as send them to PB, etc...   Thanks again for your understanding.

I have looked through my entire pc for it, and contacted the admins for it, but noone has it. i would love to give it to you the vid but i dont have it i'm really sorry. would make a nice youtube video though "how Obscurity is to be played" lol. well have fun and game on.

you have to take a few things in to account before calling someone a hacker. What kind of headphones they have/soundcard which could be why he was jumping corners and shooting the obscurity. Video Settings. Certain video settings can make u see the obs from far away.

make sure ur running 1024x768 and glow specular map and depth of field are all off, acog helps u see them too
