I'll make it short

Possessed a guy as obscurity, jumped out a building, DIED ON IMPACT?! I thought the body just left when enough damage was taken. How come I took fall damage as obs? Was this implemented on purpose? It didn't used to that I know of... If I'm wrong correct me =)

Also.. In next update. Just to see what it does, and the rammifications of doing it, could you shorten the knife distance by 1/6?  Not TO 1/6 mind you, but 1/6 of it's current length. Just to see.

 

Again, if you don wanna, you don have to =P

Yes you are meant to take fall damage while possessing, as you are limited to your host's weaknesses. You also die when your host does while possessing to any fatal damage, we thought it should be harder (although it has been like this for some time). I don't see why we should shorten the knife range, it's only 1 inch longer than the stock game, it just looks ridiculously huge because there's no lunge animation =/

Oh ok, didn't know about the possess stuff, must have missed that memo xD

 

And as for the knife. I know there is nothing supposedly wrong with it.. but many people on my server and myself included constantly either perform or recieve outraegously long knife kills. What if just for 1 patch you shortened it just to see what it would be like? I mean if it is going the range on a lunge, but there is no animation, then it's very misleading as to the actual range of the knife you are able to perform. And in most cases it seems to go even farther while sprinting.  I know I've harped on this a lot and it's just because I have a gut feeling that there is something somewhere in the code that is hiccuping now and then. But if you say so, I will drop it completely ^.^ I trust you and I know you're a great programmer, just voicing my concerns =)

shorter knife range means more close range spam kills for marines lol.

edit: dying with your host's body has been in the mod for months lol.

If it's toned down for both teams, should balance out the frustration, and if you implement that *stuff* I suggested other night, it may not necessarily mean more close range spam kills {#emotions_dlg.gunslinger}

marines have guns, means the obscurity has to move that little bit further while the marine can happily spam away at their face. (i don't really care to much either way but i think the knife distance should be left as is.)

In the grand scheme of things my opinion is that marines should not be able to 1 hit knife obscurity players as easy as they do, considering obscurity needs to knife up to 3 times sometimes due to locational damage.

Perhaps, when a marine knives the obscurity in spots other then head (maybe upper torso as well), the obscurity they hit gets pushed back and takes the amount of damage that the leg stab on them does rather then always being 1 hit kill 98.2358% of the time.

When it comes to a 1 vs 1 knife fight, obscurity has the disadvantage IMO, but this also comes down to people rushing as obscurity, so I can see the counter argument too. Just my thoughts on it all for you to ponder and discuss.

i thought it was more like 97.43746%.... but thats just me...

 

i have found that the knife distance is a bit bull s--- sometimes as well..... i'm not sure my opinion on marines knifings.... i love knifing obs myself but i see your point though.

I really appreciate all of the consideration you guys have shown me on this one ^.^ 

 

I totally agree that marines have the advantage when knifing obs. On my server it has become somewhat of a status symbol. It no longer matters about how high a score you can get, the really good people now just run around and knife obs.. and that's it.. No shooting, just knifing. I've been knifed by a marine after a 60 yard flight through the air. lol.

I also find that as a marine I am starting to fear the obscurities less and less. The only ways I can really be killed as of right now are the flying knives, where they leap forward and knife, or if they hit me with a well timed pull or distort (the one where your gun's aim gets all off).

And yes, when people rush (obs or marines), they tend to die because they aren't taking their time. Now I appreciate different play styles. But I love to take it easy and be sneaky. But if I do that then all the other obs get all the kills xD And I'm left with a single, albeit awesomely performed one.

I can't wait to see what you guys will do next ^.^ Thanks Snake and Falcar =)

lol rofl, snaklet put up my biggest greivance, having to knife a marine 3 times to kill, their legs, their spine/gut/neck? then another to kill, whilst the marine kills unless they hit their feet or hands i believe(unless crippled) which is so frustrating, one time i couldn't move away from the marine because of a wall or something, and the marine killed me because i couldn't knife him fast enough lol. i appreciate that explode does alot to remedy this situation but even so...
